PROJECT DIALYSIS CENTRE: -
Since last few years, BAMCT has started the process of setting up a dialysis center with a proposed collaboration with Kasturba Medical College,
(KMC Manipal) in village Bantwal which is 25 kms from Mangalore in Karnataka.
The model is to discount dialysis procedure for BPL patients to nominal or FOC level and charge affordable rates for villagers with reasonable income.
PROJECT BAL SHALYA KRIYA MISSION: -
A brief note- In the last 2 years BAMCT has organized and funded Bal Shalya Kriya Mission pediatric surgical mission undertaking complex and
supra major surgeries for correction of congenital malformation amongst children from BPL families.
These children have been neglected by the system in many cases and in some cases the malformations are too critical for the Govt.
& local hospital setups to deliver.
BAMCT has tied up with Peedh Parai International an NGO based in USA and
headed by Dr. Ashwin Pimpalwar and PPI brings surgeons with required expertise and also support medicos like pediatricians, anesthesiologists,
and nurses to deliver state of the art surgical treatments.
KMC Manipal has hosted the BSM with their operation rooms, recovery wards, pathology
and investigation services and whole team of local surgeons.
PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY & BENEFITS: -
Thus 100's of the children have benefited immensely with these corrections and now have a chance to live normal lives.
This is the only return sought by all the partners, who offer their services free of cost. The project therefore,
is highly sustainable financially as most of the resources are voluntary and funding required is only 20% of actual costs involved.
